XRP Prepares for Commercial Boom

Ripple Labs and its crypto, XRP, have been one of the main pillars of the crypto ecosystem for many years. Its dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission regarding how cryptos should be treated has brought a new dimension to the space and greater respect for its existence.

Now, Ripple Labs has filed an application with the state of New York to obtain a license that will allow it to issue its own stablecoin. This comes as a diversification in its strategy as XRP has fluctuations in its price, which it does not want to be reflected in other business segments of the company.

Ripple Labs' largest customers are banking and investment institutions, which need greater stability, which can be offered with the new stablecoin.
