New Taxes for Cryptos in Greece ?

The crypto surge didn’t bring joy only to investors but more concerns for tax authorities around the world for the new profits that will derive from the higher valuations.

This seems to happen in Greece also. The Ministry of Finance formed a 16-member task force that will create a tax regime for cryptos, aiming to combat tax evasion and money laundering practices.

At this moment, there are tremendous gaps in the Greek law for that specific issue and this situation has caused a lot of problems for many Greeks that use cryptos in their daily life as investments or medium of payments.

For now, the Greek tax authorities claim Bitcoin and other cryptos as a medium of payment and not as an asset, with all the corresponding staff, like putting a VAT over the transaction and put a tax on the profits.

We expect to see what will be given from the task force and how it will affect the Greek crypto holders………
