Europe regarding Digital Euro and Cryptocurrencies

This period, European Union and ECB have set two priorities for design. The first is Digital Euro and the second is the regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.

Regarding Digital Euro, ECB mentioned that Digital Euro’s success will be determined from the crowd’s acceptance and use. The “investigation” phase will end by autumn 2023. Until now, many perquisites have been described on how this system will enter our lives (like the maximum amount of € 1.5 trillion).

On the other hand, the regulatory framework in EU about cryptos should become more specific, according to ECB. More specifically, the regulation should focus to stablecoins and DeFi as they remain the main cases regarding money laundering. In second fate, the ban of PoW mining was discussed due to environmental concerns.
