Hospitals in Cyprus Keep Vaccination Registry in Blockchain

The Mediterrean Hospital of Cyprus, one of the largest private medical organizations in the island, will register the vaccinations in blockchain infrastructure, through its partnership with VeChain.

The first people that took the shot were 100 doctors and nurses, that received a digital certificate in the E-HCert app, based on VeChain. The hospital has used the same infrastructure to record the tests for coronavirus, held in the hospital’s labs and they manage to repeat it in the new application.

It is worth noting that another hospital in Cyprus, the Aretaieion Hospital, starts to use the same platform for the same use case.

The use of medical data and their storage is a crucial issue and the blockchain technology is expected to play an important role in solving these issues.
