Italian Nexi in the Digital Euro Project
Nexi, a giant in the payments sector in Italy, is expected to be one of the core advisors of European Central Bank in the Digital Euro project.
The company offers payments services to banks, managing over 40 million cards and 3 billion transactions every year.
Nexi’s CEO, Paolo Bertoluzzo, referred to cryptocurrencies as “an asset class with great volatility” while CBDCs will be the next form of cash in the daily life of citizens and businesses.
Eurozone is trying to enter this game along with other Central Banks like China’s, who have done the major steps in it.
