Cyprus Freezes Applications Due to MiCA
MiCA has started to be implemented in every state of the European Union and Cyprus is no exception to the rule.
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission has so far frozen applications for the provision of new licenses to companies that provide crypto services, whether crypto exchanges, custody, or Bitcoin ATMs.
Every European country is expected to comply with this directive and to dust off all the companies operating in the area and to determine which ones meet the conditions to continue their operation.
Beyond the operation of the exchanges, the directive is expected to be applied to the dimension of cyber security within the exchanges and how safe they are for European consumers.
In this way, we may see more serious companies entering the European market and emphasizing their growth in Europe….
