EU Expects to Push Crypto Exchanges
After FTX’s collapse, the institutional role of regulatory authorities has become much harder and more steps are expected to be done towards a stricter operating framework.
For this reason, European Union is expected to ask from crypto exchanges that serve European clients, to keep transparent files regarding customers’ deposits.
In addition, Paolo Gentiloni, the European Commissioner for Tax, stated that “the anonymity has given the opportunity to crypto users avoid taxes, a fact that can’t be forgiven”.
In parallel, the data security issue was discussed as many data leaks and hacks happened the previous year, resulting into insecurity feelings from customers regarding their deposits.
