Any Ownership in NFTs ?

NFTs is the new medium for every artist that could promote its work and monetize them also. But, a new research from Galaxy Research showed that NFTs owners are not really the owners of the IPs (intellectual properties) that are corresponsive for the artworks.

This means that NFTs issuers continue to own the tokens in the meantime.

“When we buy one of the tokens, we don’t buy the media with the metadata but the license from the issuer”

From the 25 largest NFT projects examined from Galaxy Research, only one project tried to give real ownership to the buyers.

This could be a turning point for NFTs and their evolution in the digital world. The convergence between NFTs and IPs have a long way to go…
