Swedish Regulators Suggest Bitcoin Mining Ban

Crypto mining has been a process that has been blamed for large CO2 emissions due to the intense use of electrical power continuously, having raised more considerations for its environmental impact. Swedish regulators, with letter to European Union, asked for ban any Proof-of-Work mining activity, aiming to eliminate any CO2 emissions from the specific sector.

Indeed, the regulators told that as high as the Bitcoin price is going, the more the CO2 emissions will go up. On the other hand, Vatenfall, a state-powered energy company from Sweden, backed up the mining process, especially from alternative sources of energy, as there is a chance to use this energy that is produced during the day and can’t be stored.

The proposal won’t go far from now…
