Turkey in War with Cryptos

Turkey’s economy is going from bad to worse. Inflation and rising prices are two words that you hear every day in the Turkish roads. But, President Erdogan thinks that cryptocurrencies won’t help the situation over there.

Even if Central Bank of Turkey has moved to open a digital platform for a new lira, the President and the deputy president of the governing party, Mr. Yildirim, in the youth conference, stated that Turkey has an “open war” with cryptocurrencies.

“The main purpose of Turkish government is to ensure legality, something that cryptocurrencies are not aligned with. We have working groups that work on those issues. Turkey has its own currency.”
