European Union and Miners
The energy crisis is the new reality in Europe and its reliance from Russia is making the situation worse. Brussels will try in any way to reduce the energy consumptions and everything tends to be much more effective.
The crypto sector is one of the critical sectors that need enough energy and for this reason, more regulation should be expected. The crypto miners fall in the same category as data centers as they should comply with the new energy reality in Europe.
A new draft bill expects to :
- Preference to PoS (Proof of Stake) currencies to PoW (Proof of Work)
- Certifications of energy efficiency for crypto miners
- Energy efficiency for every blockchain product
Even EU is only 10 % for PoW mining, it has tried to reduce it for environmental reasons…
