Fighting Climate Change with Cryptos

The World Economic Forum in Davos announced the Crypto Sustainability Coalition, an initiative that targets to bring the role of Web 3.0 technologies, in the fight against climate change.

This cooperative venture is consisted of 30 companies, research institutes and other organizations and its main goal is to transcribe the energy footprint of those technologies and what will cost in environmental terms the transition to them.

Some of the goals from this initiative will be the energy consumption of those technologies, their use for decreasing the carbon footprint for other sectors and their connection to carbon credits.

Well-known cryptocurrencies in the project are Solana, Avalanche, Circle, the NEAR Foundation, Ripple and Stellar.
