The Next Day for Cryptos in the EU

Fabio Panetta, executive member of ECB, made two statements during the previous days around the crypto world. The statements moved in the crypto framework and its future in the EU.

The statement was around the new Digital Euro. There is a suggestion regarding anonymity for small transactions, that will be against anti-money laundering. Indeed, ECB will try to implement a relative Lightning Network for the Digital Euro to ease citizens’ transactions.

In contrast, the second statement was about Bitcoin and other cryptos and the need for limit them, due to high energy cost and impact but also for the possibility for money laundering and investment gambling. Of course, the existence of a regulatory framework should be done in the optimal way for the citizens’ life.
