The New Crypto Fund from Andreessen Horowitz

The well-known venture capital Andreessen Horowitz (known also as a16z) is famous for its investments in companies which are active in the crypto space. The most popular of them is Coinbase, whose investment was completed at company’s first stages.

Passing in the next level, the VC is preparing a new fund with more than $1 billion in invested capital, solely targeting at crypto startups.

The move is injecting “indirect liquidity” in the market as the VC won’t buy directly cryptos or converting cash into different cryptocurrencies. In contrast, its scope focuses on growing the business ecosystem and create economies of scale, introducing new capital in it.

The only sure thing is that more and more institutions look to get involved in the sector in any way.
